Achology Certification and Accreditation
Skills and competencies require continuous refinement over time. Through focussed effort and consistent feedback, individuals can attain expertise in any field. This process is the heart of all Achology accreditation and professional development.
About Accreditation
Accreditation is often viewed as the gold standard of educational standards. That’s why Achology partners with the Society of Modern Applied Psychology (SoMAP) and the CPD Standards Office. This alliance ensures our CPD process is rooted in the real-world applications of psychology and geared to equip students with the wisdom to excel in their respective fields of study.
Our aim at Achology is to inspire our members to get actively engaged in their learning, recognizing that certification alone is not an indication of skill. Our online learning portal monitors what our members achieve in their learning and accrues this data so that we can use it to verify how many hours each learner has invested into honing their skills and developing true expertise.

Skill Development Framework
Achology offers three options for engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD). All of our certification courses offer practical principles, methodologies, and demonstrations that members of our academy, known as "achologists," can apply to others, practice on themselves, or discuss within groups.
1. Virtual Achologist Led
Training Sessions
(VALTS)
VALTS aims to empower Achology members by helping them apply psychology-based principles to real-world scenarios and grasp their significance. VALTS are designed to cultivate experiential learning and foster leadership skills through an immersive hands-on experience. Achologists lead the VALTS and guide discussions, with the aim to uplift the competence of every participant.
2. Peer-Peer Applied
Learning Sessions
(PALS)
The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology encourages its members to gain practical knowledge by utilising their skills and applying their newfound insights to real-world situations. Through participation in PALS, aspiring achologists can practice their skills on fellow members, fostering a deeper understanding of the concepts, theories, and methodologies they are learning.
3. Competency
Improvement Practice
Sessions (CIPS)
CIPS play a pivotal role in Achology’s accreditation process. These sessions empower achologists to cultivate practical skills and experiential wisdom through working with individuals who face real challenges and seek new personal growth opportunities. Although they can be difficult, CIPS offer achologists an exceptional avenue to develop extensive competence in their field.

The Achology Code of Ethics
Ethical standards are the guiding principles that empower individuals to consistently make morally sound decisions. Upholding these standards fosters trustworthiness, forming the bedrock for strong relationships and a positive reputation. Adhering to ethical principles equips people to make wise decisions, navigate conflicts, and safeguard the trust bestowed upon them by others.
Our Code of Ethics is rooted in the principles of morality and human virtue. It draws inspiration from the teachings of Aristotle, who emphasized the significance of nurturing virtuous habits to consistently make wise and ethical choices. Aligned with this philosophy, our training aims to guide individuals towards developing strong moral character and the capacity to make ethical decisions.

Understanding the variations between Achology’s certifications—Certificates of Course Completion and Certificates of Achievement—is vital for your educational journey. Each reflects different levels of engagement with our course material and learning community, underlining your commitment to personal growth.
Certificates of Course Completion are awarded when learners successfully complete all modules of a specific course. This signifies that you’ve grasped the course content and exhibited basic understanding. However, it doesn’t necessarily imply mastery or proficiency in the field. Even without an active membership, diligent learners can secure this certificate as a testament to their course completion.
On the other hand, earning a Certificate of Achievement involves a deeper engagement within Achology’s peer-peer learning community. It’s awarded to learners who not only complete a course but also show significant expertise in the subject matter through practical applications. This is facilitated via Competency Improvement Practice Sessions (CIPS), Peer-to-Peer Applied Learning Sessions (PALS), and Virtual Achologist Led Training Sessions (VALTS).
CIPS help you refine skills and gain expert insights by applying course methodology on real-life ‘clients’. These sessions present opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge, learn from errors, and improve understanding through hands-on experience and feedback. PALS foster engagement with peers, promoting collaborative learning and shared insights. VALTS, led by experienced Achologists, guide learners through applied psychology’s complexities, providing valuable feedback and insights.
Active membership is crucial for participating in CIPS, PALS, and VALTS. These sessions are integral to our experiential learning approach, designed to equip learners with real-world competencies beyond classroom-based theoretical understanding.
In conclusion, while a Certificate of Course Completion can be earned without active membership, a Certificate of Achievement necessitates a higher level of engagement with Achology’s community and resources. It’s a testament to your understanding of course material and your ability to effectively apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios—making it particularly valuable for those aiming to utilize Achology training professionally.
