The full answer
If someone hands you an Achology certificate and you want to confirm it’s real, the process is simple: contact Achology and ask.
How verification works. Email enquiries@achology.com with the member’s name and the certificate details. Achology can confirm whether that person completed the course, whether the certificate is genuine, and what CPD level they’ve reached within the member journey. The team handles these requests directly.
This is a manual process. Achology does not currently operate a public registry where you type in a name and see results. Verification goes through the team, which means a short turnaround rather than instant confirmation.
Why no public registry? Many larger institutions run searchable databases of graduates. Achology is a focused community, not a mass-market university. The direct contact approach works for the current scale and gives the team control over what information they share. It also prevents scraping or misuse of member data.
If this changes in future, it will appear on the Achology website. For now, direct contact remains the verification method.
What members can provide themselves. If you hold an Achology certificate and an employer or client asks for proof, you don’t need to wait for Achology to respond on your behalf. You can present several forms of evidence directly:
Your course completion certificate shows the specific course, your name, and the date of completion. Your member journey account inside the community platform shows your current CPD level and documented hours across VALTS, PALS, and CIPS. Your personal CPD logs (from the tracking pages in the CPD Handbook) add a dated, self-maintained record of every session you attended or hosted.
Together, these give any employer or client a clear picture of what you studied, how much you practised, and where you sit in the development framework. Most employers care more about this practical evidence than a database entry.
The SoMAP layer. Achology partners with the Society of Modern Applied Psychology (SoMAP) for accreditation and professional standards oversight. SoMAP exists specifically for applied psychology education and practice. If an employer or client wants to verify the accrediting body behind Achology’s CPD framework, they can visit thesomap.org directly.
SoMAP accreditation confirms that Achology’s CPD process meets defined standards for experiential learning, ethical training, and competence development. It does not confirm individual member credentials — that still goes through Achology.
A note on honesty. Achology’s Code of Ethics requires members to represent their qualifications accurately. An Achology certificate confirms course completion and CPD engagement. It does not confirm a regulated professional title. Any member who presents their certificate as something it isn’t — claiming to be a licensed therapist or counsellor based on Achology training alone — violates both the Code of Ethics and potentially the law in their jurisdiction.
The verification process exists partly to protect against this. When employers or clients check directly with Achology, they get an accurate description of what the certificate means — no inflation, no ambiguity.
Next step
If you need to verify an Achology certificate, email enquiries@achology.com with the member’s name and certificate details. If you hold an Achology certificate and want to prepare for verification requests, ensure your CPD journey account reflects your current activity and keep your personal logs up to date.
