How Much Can I Earn as an Achology-Trained Coach?

Achology does not guarantee, predict, or imply any specific income from coaching. What you earn depends on your competence, business skills, niche, and effort — not on completing a course or holding a certificate.

Short answer

  • Achology makes no income claims and no earnings guarantees. Any training provider that does should raise a red flag.
  • Coaching income varies enormously — from zero to six figures — depending on factors Achology cannot control.
  • The CPD member journey builds genuine competence. However, competence alone does not generate income.
  • You also need business skills: pricing, marketing, client acquisition, and service delivery.
  • Building a sustainable coaching income requires business skills — pricing, marketing, client acquisition — that sit outside Achology’s educational scope.
  • The most honest answer is: your income reflects your effort, skill, and market — not your certificate.

The full answer

Why Achology refuses to make income promises

Many coaching programmes advertise income potential. They quote average salaries, display testimonials from high earners, or imply that completing their course leads directly to a profitable practice. Achology does not do this. The reason is straightforward: it would be dishonest.

Coaching income depends on dozens of variables. These include your niche, your location, your pricing, your marketing ability, the size of your network, your professional reputation, and your willingness to treat coaching as a business. No training course controls any of those factors. Therefore, any provider that promises specific earnings is misleading you.

What Achology does provide

Achology builds the competence side of the equation. Through the CPD member journey, you develop practical coaching skills across multiple formats. You study practitioner courses, participate in live training sessions (VALTS), deliver peer practice (PALS), and complete real one-to-one coaching sessions with non-members (CIPS).

As a result, by the time you progress through the six levels to Master Achologist, you hold documented evidence of genuine coaching ability. This matters because competence is the foundation of any sustainable practice. Without it, no amount of marketing will keep clients coming back.

The CPD journey builds genuine competence across six levels. However, competence alone does not generate income. You also need to find clients, set pricing, market yourself, and deliver consistently. Those are business skills, not training outcomes.

What Achology does not provide

Achology does not teach you how to run a business. It does not offer marketing training, sales coaching, or client-acquisition strategies. It does not help you set up a website, write copy, or manage your finances. Those skills are essential for earning a living as a coach, and they sit outside Achology’s scope.

Similarly, Achology does not control market demand in your area. A well-trained coach in a saturated market may struggle to find clients. Conversely, a competent coach in an underserved niche may build a full practice quickly. These are market dynamics, not training outcomes.

What the coaching market actually looks like

Income data for coaches varies widely and carries significant caveats. Industry surveys often skew toward respondents who are already successful. Part-time coaches and those who earn modestly tend to be underrepresented.

In general terms, new coaches typically start with low or no income while they build credibility and a client base. Some never progress beyond occasional pro bono or low-fee sessions. Others build thriving full-time practices over several years. A small number earn substantial incomes — but they usually combine strong coaching skills with strong business skills, an established network, and years of sustained effort.

The honest reality is this: coaching can become a viable career, but it is not a guaranteed one. Treating it as a business — with all the planning, investment, and persistence that implies — matters as much as the training itself.

Boundaries and responsibility

Achology’s Code of Ethics requires members to act with integrity in all professional dealings. This includes how you represent your services and qualifications to potential clients. Overpromising results — whether coaching outcomes or income potential — violates the ethical standards Achology upholds.

If any third party claims you can earn a guaranteed income through Achology training, that claim does not come from Achology and should not be trusted.
